Nanananananananananananananananaaaaaa Platnaam!

Well, here it is, another Platinum trophy to add to my collection. and in all honesty (as you’ll already know) it’s a simple one, being a Telltale Game. However, I still thought I would write up my feelings on it.

Batman: The Telltale Series

Batman: The Telltale Series explores the Wayne’s history as never before

First things first, yes, it’s glitchy, yes, I waited so I could play all episodes one after another, and yes, it’s great because it’s batman! I really liked the angle the writers at Telltale took for the narrative, painting the Wayne family as nothing more than equal to the gansters and mob bosses in Gotham. It was a pleasant twist that I haven’t seen done before. It was also great to be able to enjoy being Bruce as much as Bats, albeit, less punchy punchy.

The game looks stunning, like a freshly drawn DC comic book that has come to life through some kind go bat magic… Character models, whilst super stylised, are instantly recognisable. When the Joker turns up in Arkham Asylum you just know he is up to mischief, even though it’s never said who he is.

The trophy list was your standard affair when it comes to Telltale games. Simply complete each chapter of each episode until you have seen the conclusion of the game. So no grinding, no collectible hunting and no multiple run throughs. Whilst it is nice to sit back and watch the pings come in, I cannot but help think Telltale would do well to add a few extra metallic treats for certain objectives. Not only would it add some re-lpayability, but it may also make you step outside your comfort zone. For example, I was a good Batman and didn’t really do any interrogating or bone breaking, whereas if I had to for a trophy.. well.. you know…

Batman: The Telltale Series, sadly doesn't feature Dark Knight Rises' Catwoman

Batman: The Telltale Series, sadly doesn’t feature Dark Knight Rises’ Catwoman

Overall though, I thoroughly enjoyed Batman: The Telltale Series, and for the super low price you can pick it up these days, couldn’t recommend it highly enough. After all, it dragged me away from Horizon Zero Dawn for 7 hours!
Thanks for reading 🙂
